Description
We leave our hotel very early in the morning and start our trip to the Villarrica Volcano or Ruca Pillan, which in the Mapuche language means "House of the Devil". This lively volcano is one of the most important and impressive in the Araucanía Region. Its altitude is 2,847 meters. It is one of the most active volcanoes of the South American continent. The view from its summit is impressive since you can see the lakes Villarrica, Calafquén, Huelipilum, Pellaifa and Caburgua and volcanoes such as Lanín Volcano, Lonquimay Volcano, Quetrupillán Volcano, Choshuenco and Llaima Volcano.
Safety is a very important issue in this great excursion since it is done only by expert guides and full equipment. The excursion takes about 9 hours since the ascent to the summit is carried out very smoothly and it is not an activity for experts but for visitors who have the minimum physical capabilities and want to comment on the experience of having known the summit of one of the most important living volcanoes in the world.
