SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA: PIEDRAS ROJAS Y LAGUNAS ALTIPLANICAS (SIB)

We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning to start the trip out of the city. The trip to the Piedras Rojas and Altiplanic Lagoons will take us through important tourist sites within the Atacama Desert. To get to the Piedras Rojas lagoon, or Aguas Calientes salt flat as it is also known, we will have to climb in our vehicle to 3800 meters altitude and walk for 1 hour and 15 minutes to see these copper-colored rocks, as well as the lagoons and salt flats around. Afterwards, we will go to the Altiplano Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons, where our guide will give us some explanations about the flora and fauna that inhabits the place. We will also make a stop at the Chaxa lagoon, where you can see flamingos. In the same way, we will pass by Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn, where we will make a short stop to take pictures. Then, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama to finish our tour.

*Due to snow accumulation during the winter months, access to Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons may be closed. If so, the visit to these lagoons will be replaced by the Tuyajto lagoon.
